Berlin Wallpaper is
a family owned business operated by the same family since 1948. Our first store was
opened as Diamond Wallpaper at 1039 Kaighn ave. in Camden (1948-1976) by
Jerry and Rose. They sold Wallpaper, paint and floor covering. This
original store burned down in 1958 and was later re-opened across the
street that same year at 1024-1028 Kaighn ave. Jerry expanded the business
in 1956
as a second store was opened in Merchantville Market on Cuthbert Blvd.
Here we sold just wallpaper and paint. This second location stayed open
until 1961 when Merchantville market was converted to the Cherry Hill
Discount Mart. Jerry decided to move this store to the Berlin Farmers
Market Berlin New Jersey. Marc & Susan took over operations at this location in 1976 as
the store in Camden was closed and Jerry and Rose retired. This small
store #318 was moved in 1987 to a much larger location at #104
still inside the Berlin Market. Now selling Wallpaper, Borders, Murals, Window
treatments, Instant Stencils, and room decoration accents.
Building an Internet business is now Marc's primary occupation with
most of the stores products available online. New and interesting
merchandise will added in the future as this market expands. A third
generation is now helping out in the business keeping Jerry's dream alive.
